Visit to Rawlins Plantation later Saturday Afternoon

After I left Timothy's Beach and the Monkey Bar I drove around the whole island. I had been told that it would only take an hour but it took me at least 4 hours with a dinner stop at the Rawlins Plantation. From the main road I starting seeing cane fields on both sides of the road. There would be small signs indicating the name of the plantation and little villages clusters on the outer edges on the main road. In these pictures you will see the unpaved road I took (very long drive) into the cane field and finally the plantation. The grounds are very beautiful and the house had incredible views of sister island Nevis and the mountains. Dinner was West Indian cuisine with Nan, chicken curry, mint pasta salad, fish balls (battered fish pieces) and a variety of vegables and rice. I had a Pimms - you'll see the drink in the photos. It had rum, some type of fruit juice, cucumber and orange slices. A strange combo but it was very refreshing.
